We are delighted to offer the first Associate Instructor Training in Ireland and hope to have a new wave of teachers sharing Universal Tao practices as brought to the West by Master Mantak Chia. It is our vision that more people have access to Taoist practices in Ireland, Europe and beyond.
What’s an Associate Instructor? An Associate Instructor certificate allows you to teach basic practices such as the Inner Smile, Healing Sounds and Qi Gong warm ups in your local area. It is like a halfway point to becoming a Certified Instructor. It suits those who wish to deepen their practice or add to their therapy-work or for people who would not have the time or resources to attend the full 4 week training in the Tao Garden. Once you have become an Associate Instructor, you can upgrade to Certified Instructor at Tao Garden in just 2 weeks.
The Training: This 6 day immersive training takes place in a stunning retreat setting in Wicklow, Ireland. It is a complete programme from early morning to late evening. Expect to immerse yourself fully in the Tao and to feel inspired and full of chi! The training is bespoke to the group and combines practice and theory, as well as all of the essentials for becoming a good teacher.
We cover the following Tao practices, some of which is just for your own personal practice and some of which you will be able to teach:
- Inner Smile
- Healing Sounds
- Warm Up Qi Gong
- Chi Self Massage
- Tan Tien Breathing Practices
- Microcosmic Orbit & Connections
- Activating the 6 Directions
- Iron Shirt Chi Kung
- Tao Yin
To qualify as an Associate Instructor, you will need to demonstrate a competent level of knowledge at the end of the training for those practices you can become qualified to teach – Inner Smile, Healing Sounds, Chi Kung warm ups and Chi Self massage.
Pre-Requisites: Universal Healing Tao System requires that you complete 60 – 70 hours of specific workshop/classes with a certified Instructor prior to doing the training. You must have at least 1 years practice.
To ensure that you have enough hours of the relevant workshops for this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before March 1st 2019 and we will help you calculate if you have the correct hours. Email us a list of the workshops, dates and teacher’s name and we will assist you in your application.
Teachers: The training will be facilitated by Olivier Barré (Senior Instructor) from France and Máire Ní G (Certified Instructor), both of whom have trained directly with Grandmaster Mantak Chia in the Tao Garden in Thailand.
Olivier assists Master Chia in teaching and evaluating new instructors at the Tao Garden. He has over 20 years experience with the practices. As an acupuncturist and manual therapist, Olivier is firmly rooted in Chinese medicine, with a broad knowledge of meridians, five elements theory and anatomy which supports his teaching. He is also a Chi Nei Tsang teacher.
Máire is the founder of Universal Healing Tao Ireland and is happy to be establishing the soulful roots of the Tao in Ireland. She is the organiser of Mantak Chia’s visits to Dublin and teaches regular classes and workshops throughout the year.
Combined they have a wide variety of experience and teach in a thorough, practical and light-hearted way.
Venue: The training will take place at An Tairseach, Eco-Centre, Wicklow. It has a sustainable ethos with delicious organic food from their own farm or locally sourced produce. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Weather-permitting we will be able to do some practice in the Cosmic Gardens and you will be able to enjoy the tranquil surroundings between sessions. Accommodation and food are extra and affordable.
For those travelling from Europe, its possible to get to the Eco-Centre by public transport. If you need help planning your route, just send me an email.
